OUR NAME HAS CHANGED! PDF Print E-mail

We are now the:

Southern Maine Landlord Assocation (SMLA)

The membership voted at the March meeting to change the name of our organization.  The new name will more clearly describe who we are and not get confused with the Greater Portland Housing Authority.  

The name change will take place over the next several months.

1st Annual "Back to Basics"! PDF Print E-mail

The March meeting was our first effort at a "Back to Basics" - a review of the main steps and documents needed in the process of getting and keeping tenants.  The meeting was well attended with well over 60 members present.  David Chamberlain was on hand to ellucidate on all legal issues while Veronica, Mike Duvernay, and Brit walked through the the different steps.

Oil Lock Offer - '09-'10 Season PDF Print E-mail

An oil contract offer is being mailed out to all active members from Pine State Energy (should be mailed out around 1/23/09).  The GPHA does not endorse not discourage its members from participating in this offer.  It is simply an offer from Pine State to each active member of our organization.

 Summary of the offer (details will be in the contract):
1. Pre-Pay/Auto Fill (Fixed Rate) - pay for all oil up front by Feb 1, 2009
Price: $2.099
2. Budget/Auto-Fill (Fixed Rate) - pay 20% by Feb 1, 2009. Pay the balance of 7 months from June - December
Price: $2.199
3. Pay As You Go/Auto-Fill
Price: Daily Cash Rate -$.04 if paid within 5 days of delievery
 
Clarification of Issues:
- Pine State does deliever to Saco and Biddeford.
- Pine State is not bonded. I don't know if other companies are bonded though - do your research if you are concerned!
- This is for the 2009-2010 heating heating season.
- This is not like GPHA Oil contracts in the past in which the organization was a single customer and carried all the liability. Each member that signs up under this agreement is a single customer of Pine State.
